Will roadside officers accept a digital permit book?
In most cases, yes — IRP has permitted electronic cab cards since 2019, and many credentials may be carried as legible electronic copies. Requirements still vary by state and document type, so e-Permits also makes printing a current, complete paper set a one-click job for anything you want physical in the cab. Either way, the source of truth stays current.
Do drivers need to install an app?
We recommend it. The Carrier Pulse mobile app is purpose-built for roadside — it opens fast, works offline, and is designed to be readable with an officer at the window. That said, every driver also gets a browser link for their truck's permit book, so no driver is ever stranded without access if they haven't installed the app yet.
What happens to our documents if we cancel?
They're yours. You can export every document and its history as an organized package at any time — including on your way out. We earn the renewal; we don't hold your records hostage.
How long does setup take?
Most fleets are live in an afternoon. Upload your existing documents (or forward them from your renewal emails), assign them to trucks, and send drivers their links. We help with the initial load during onboarding.
